The author vividly shows a tall bun, long beard, beautiful and strong old man collecting herbs with various techniques such as carving and round carving. The old man pedals his feet on the grass, sits beside the medicine hoe, bends his knees and lowers his head, looks down, and sits on the exquisite stone with a smile, like a nap, like meditation. The flower basket held by the old man is full of fruits, including peach, ganoderma lucidum and fairy grass, implying the meaning of “group of immortals wishing birthday”
This work is exquisitely carved. The characters’ smiling faces and clothing patterns all have a sense of elegance. Although there is no style, it is undoubtedly made by a famous craftsman and is a good bamboo carving in the early Qing Dynasty
