At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, there were also some painters who were good at architecture in the Jinling School of Painting, whose creative materials were landscapes and scenery in the south of the Yangtze River. Chen Zhuo was one of the representatives. This axis depicts a fictional fairyland. Its towers are all painted with boundary pens, with neat structure and meticulous description. The densely textured rocks and trees in the picture are also represented with meticulous and heavy colors, which reflect the author’s profound skills in Song Dynasty courtyard painting. However, due to the lack of observation of the real scene in the author’s creation, the scene lacks vitality in the exquisite and gorgeous. In the painting of Tongyin by Zuyong of the Qing Dynasty and Qin Dynasty, he pointed out this shortcoming of Chen Zhuo’s landscape painting, saying that his painting was “a silk landscape with thousands of hills and thousands of valleys, with the precision of the Song Dynasty, but not the elegance of the Yuan Dynasty”.
