Purple paint golden flower reflecting telescope, manufactured by the Qing Palace Building Office in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, is 81 cm long, 11.5 cm in barrel diameter, 10.2 cm in objective lens diameter, 3 cm in eyepiece diameter, and 51 cm in height with triangular support. This is a single-cylinder Gregory telescope. Its body is copper-plated, its outer wall is painted with purple paint, and it is decorated with gold diamond flower and leaf patterns. The diamond patterns are in a chessboard layout. Two Kui dragons are carved on the copper gilded plate at the bearing of the mirror tube and bracket. This is the only telescope in the Palace Museum with dragon-shaped decoration.
