When Ren Xiong was 25 years old, he made friends with Zhou Xian in Qiantang, Zhejiang Province, and became close friends in art. Ren Xiong was invited to live in Fan Hu Thatched Cottage in Zhou Xian for three years, and devoted himself to studying ancient paintings and discussing painting theory with Zhou Xian from time to time.
