The painting of two distant mountains shows no brush marks and scratches. It is lightly painted with light ink. Close shot: A boatman is rowing a canoe offshore, and two people are sitting in the boat. There is a branch willow at the edge of the water, and there are reeds growing along the bank, which echo the swaying reeds in the river. The picture wins with simplicity. The river, which accounts for half of the whole picture, is not painted with a single stroke of water. The water meaning is all implied by other objects in the water – boats, reeds, etc. This is the ingenuity of the whole picture, and also the expression of the author’s ingenuity by reflecting the reality with the virtual and the surface with the point. The whole painting has a strong flavor of literati painting, focusing on the artistic conception of seclusion pursued by literati
