[Fan page of Wu Junqing’s litchi map]

The fan page of the litchi map, painted by Wu Junqing in the Qing Dynasty, paper version, color setting, 18.7cm in the vertical and 51.1cm in the horizontal
There is a caption on the fan page: “Mr. Gongzhilai wrote about the princess’s smile, and set colors for putting (imitating) Dai Shiping, while Gu Chalao thought it was very similar to Zhang Menggao. The grass on the arm fell ill in April at noon. Junqing wrote.” The seal was “Fou” and Zhu Wenyin. “Bingwu” is the thirty-second year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1906), when Wu Changshuo was 63 years old
The picture shows the Feizixiao litchi without any background. The juicy litchi fruit is first paved with light red and then painted with dark red, which enriches the level of local description and increases the three-dimensional sense. The branches and leaves use the simple and vigorous cursive seal strokes, which shows the aesthetic interest in calligraphy. The author’s artistic technique of “painting by the way of writing” has a great influence on modern Chinese painting and Japanese painting
