Color-painted double-dragon rectangular corner box, 38.5cm long, 23.3cm wide and 14.7cm high
Box wooden tire, rectangular corner, oval circle foot. The whole body is decorated with colored paint. The black lacquer string pattern on the cover shines, and the “Swastika” brocade in the open light is decorated with two dragons and pearls on the ground, the cloud in the middle holds the treasure bottle, the halberd is inserted in the bottle, the silver ingot and the square victory are hung on the top, the auspicious clouds are distributed between, and the sea water and river cliff are decorated below, which means good luck, peace, longevity and happiness. The slanted walls of the implement and the cover each have four lights. The yellow paint inside the light is decorated with twining lotus flowers, the edge of the implement is decorated with string flowers, and the foot edge is decorated with cloud patterns. The inside and outside of the box are painted with black light paint, and the top of the bottom is engraved with the gold regular script “Guichou year system of the Wanli calendar of the Ming Dynasty”, which runs in eight characters. The Guichou year is the forty-first year of the Wanli calendar (1613)
This box is dignified and generous in shape, with a moderate proportion. The corners break straight lines as curves, full of changes, and is the first creation of Wanli Dynasty. The decoration content is the traditional auspicious pattern, with clear texture and exquisite decoration. The colors are composed of red, yellow, ochre, green and black, which are calm and harmonious. The watch is smooth and finely polished. This box has prominent palace characteristics and is a representative work of the Wanli period.
