[Tooth carving Kuixing]
Tooth carving Kuixing, with a height of 16.3cm and a base diameter of 5cm
Kuixing looks like a ghost, holding a pen and ink with both hands, and looking up at the sky with anger. The left foot is raised as a kick, and the right foot is stepped on the top of the table to express the meaning of being the top
The folk generally carve Kuixing into the shape of lifting his feet and kicking, and there are also those who hold the pen and ink with two hands. This belongs to the latter. This ivory carving is sharp and deep, exquisite in decoration, novel in artistic conception, and vivid in Kuixing’s movements and expressions. It is the best of the round carving in the late Ming Dynasty
In 1954, Mr. Xia Xizhong donated this tooth carving star to the Palace Museum.
