[The rectangular box of the red baby play picture]
The rectangular box of the red baby play picture, in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, is 8.2 cm high, 14.4 cm long and 11.4 cm wide
The box is painted with red paint. The cover depicts three children playing in the curtained garden. The cover wall and the box body are carved with flower patterns, which are all based on the tortoise back brocade pattern. A drawer is attached to the box. The outer bottom and the inside of the box are painted black. No money. The carving method of this box is mellow, but the folding treatment of flowers and leaves is not the same as that of Yongle Carving; The tortoise back brocade pattern seems to be much larger than that of Yongle Dynasty. Based on these two points, we believe that the age of this rectangular box should belong to the middle of the Ming Dynasty
Paintings with baby drama as the theme have become mature in the Tang Dynasty. After the Ming Dynasty, such paintings were especially appreciated by the royal family. When Zhu Yizun of the Qing Dynasty mentioned the porcelain of the previous dynasty, he said, “Those with hundreds of pictures and multicolored dragon patterns are all popular in the imperial residence of the emperor in the past”. In addition, the picture of baby play also has the meaning of praying for children
