Written version of the painted green chrysanthemum with thread embroidery is 30 cm in length and 27 cm in width
This warp is written with red two-warp twisted straight warp yarn as the backing, green, red, yellow, blue and other colors of clothing thread and wool as the embroidery thread, adopting the techniques of string, loose needle, net embroidery, thread stitching, needle splicing, oblique winding needle and reverse end stitch, and using the three-to-four halo-removing method to embroider patterns
The surface of the scripture is made of diamond-shaped brocade patterns, with five colored clouds embroidered on the top, a blooming chrysanthemum embroidered on the middle, and the sea water and riverside patterns embroidered on the bottom. The brocade ground is embroidered with light green thread and sprinkling thread. The leaves of five-color clouds and chrysanthemums are embroidered with thread with poor gloss. The chrysanthemums are embroidered with yarn with strong gloss, forming the effect of dark ground, dark leaves and bright flowers. Its unique feature is that when embroidery chrysanthemum, a thick strong twist thread is pressed at the edge of the needle by using the anti-berm needle technique, so that the edge of the petals is both neat and protruding, full of layering and three-dimensional effect
The written composition of this book is simple, the lines are ingenious, the colors are bright, colorful and natural, the stitches are neat and uniform, and the embroiderers are skilled and delicate. It is the best of Beijing embroidery works in the Ming Dynasty.
