This self-titled five-character poem reads: “The rain is like a bath in the trees, and the clouds are like floating mountains. The grass is fluctuating, and there is a return boat in Qugang. Zheng Ming.” The seal is “Zheng Zhong’s father’s seal” (in white). This painting contains four poems written by Peng Nian of the Ming Dynasty, Lu Shidao, Wang Guxiang and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. The works were once collected in the Qing Dynasty. The painting depicts the scene after the rain in the mountains. The clouds and mist are steaming, the trees are lush, the ink is smooth, and the artistic conception is fresh and quiet. It is the representative work of Wen’s fine brush landscape painting.
