[Fan Page of Chen Jiru’s Ink Plum Painting]
Fan Page of the Ink Plum Painting, Ming Dynasty, Chen Jiru’s painting, gold paper, ink pen, 17.3 cm vertically and 51 cm horizontally
The fan page has its own title: “Jia Zi has written since the spring. Meigong.” The seal is “Meigong” and the seal is “a corrupt scholar”
“Jia Zi” is the fourth year of the reign of tomorrow (1624), when Chen Jiru was 66 years old
This picture is Chen’s best painting with ink plum as the theme. Based on his understanding of the plum tree, he has reached the point where the description of the plum tree has become interesting. This fan is ingeniously conceived. The plum tree is not drawn from the bottom up or from the left to the right horizontally according to the general rule, but in the way of “probing down and rising up”. The plum tree gives people a new idea of being born in the air. In order to make up for the blank on the left side of the painting fan, the author not only wrote the ink title on the upper left side, but also painted a branch of flowers in the lower corner of the left side. Its appearance not only played a role in filling the blank, but also added the fun of “making branches outside the painting”
