Luzhi Yunyan Fan Page after Autumn

[Luzhi Yunyan Autumn Painting Fan Page]

Yunyan Autumn Painting Fan Page, Ming Dynasty, Luzhi painting, gold paper, color setting, 15 cm vertical, 46.7 cm horizontal
The fan page has its own title: “Lu Zhi wrote Yunyan in August after autumn.” The seal “Bao Shanzi” is white
“Xinchou” is the twentieth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1541), when Lu Zhi was 46 years old
Lu Zhi is a disciple of Wen Zhengming’s painting study. He can not only learn from Wen’s book style, but also innovate in image modeling. This picture is a typical painting of his own style. The composition of the picture takes advantage of the strange risks. The mountains and rocks in the far and near view are all jagged and overlapping. The outline pen is not the round and fine pen method used by Wen, but the short lines are drawn according to the height and direction of the mountains. The hard texture of the mountains and rocks is shown through the expression of the multiple edges and angles of the mountains and rocks. The trees at the point of view in the picture are painted in small freehand brushwork. The slightly thin tree features form a strong contrast with the rocks, which further enhances the charm of the rocks
