From the inscription of Hong Kuan, we can see that this picture was painted in the 35th year of Wanli (1607) of the Ming Dynasty. It is a portrait of the joy of Zeng Jing and Hu Zongxin. The main character in the picture is Wu Yunzhao. Hong Kuan, the author of the book, is unknown
The picture shows Wu Yunzhao sitting on a rock with a musical score in his hand, meditating, accompanied by a child behind him, surrounded by dense pine forests, towering mountains, and flowing springs. On the path, a child carrying a bag of books is coming towards the owner. The face of the figure is delicately baked and dyed, but due to the age and improper preservation, the face has returned to lead and is slightly dull. The rules of children’s painting are relatively simple and have no portrait nature
Zeng Jing was 43 years old when he created this painting, which belongs to his works in the early period of his painting style.
