The painter uses a concise and general approach to express the clear and open scenery of mountains circling the lake and boats crossing. A canopied boat ripples on the lake, one person sits quietly at the stern of the boat to read, the fisherman in the bow of the boat pushes a pole, and the fishing rod is obliquely inserted on the boat, which shows the leisure and ease of life of literati and doctors. In terms of painting style, although the mountain stones have the marks of chopping and chapping, they are not as hard and exposed as Ma Yuan and Xia Gui. Instead, they are brushwork, and the color of ink halo is appropriate. This is a typical work of Jiang Song’s rough ink landscape painting.
