The picture of “Yuchuan Tea Cooking” was signed. Ren Zi was written by Mr. Xun in the winter in Monk Liao, Tiger Hill, Ding Yunpeng, with the seal of “Yunpeng” Zhu Wenyin, and “Nanyu” Zhu Wenyin. The other seal is Bai Wenyin, “Foreign Minister of the Three Kingdoms”, “Shen Shuyong”, and Zhu Wenyin, “Yun Chu Approved”. Renzi is the fortieth year of Wanli (1612)
The picture depicts the scene of Lu Tong, a famous scholar in the Tang Dynasty, cooking tea. It is a fine painting created by Ding Yunpeng in his later years. Lu Tong (about 796-835), a native of Jiyuan, whose ancestral home is Fan Yang (now Zhuozhou, Hebei Province), lived in seclusion in Shaoshi Mountain in his early years, and later moved to Luoyang after his name was Yuchuanzi. He is excellent in poetry and prose. He once wrote “Eclipse Poetry” to stab the current politics, which was praised by Han Yu. He is good at drinking tea. His poem “Tea Song” contains many strange sentences. In the picture, Lu Tong is dressed in casual clothes, wearing a scarf, holding a feather fan, and sitting cross-legged on the blue stone in front of the plantain, with jagged rocks behind and green bamboos. Two servants are waiting. Lu Tong stared intently at the tea stove on the fire, and his concentration was carved in detail. The brushwork of flowers, bamboos and plantains in the picture is neat and neat, the Yin-yang and texture of the strange stones are clear, the color is light and cool, the green is dripping, and the quiet and quiet atmosphere is straight to people’s face. The figure’s clothing pattern is painted with elegant and ancient hairline, or with clear, round and fine iron line, to distinguish different textures of clothing, showing the artist’s originality. The painting techniques of the whole picture are varied and the style and tone are unified. The characters are vivid, the trees and stones are lively, and the strokes are like flowing clouds and flowing water
