This picture has seven unique titles: “You go out of the river city and I go into the city. The road in the world is merciless. The water and clouds are like the sea and the autumn tide is big, and only the seagull is to greet you. Only the virtuous have seen it, but give it without a welcome, so as to redeem it. Shen Zhou.” After that, the seal of “Shen Qinan” is stamped. At the top of this picture are Shen Yu, Shen Mu, Xu Jin, Chen Dian, Shen Yu and others who wrote one of the seven unique poems for Weide and one of the five unique poems written by Shen Yun
The works depict the scenery of lakes and mountains, with verdant far peaks, quiet near the lake, dotted with miscellaneous trees at the foot of the river on the bank, and quiet mountains and rivers, which highlight the high, refreshing and open artistic conception of autumn scenery. In terms of creation, it reflects Shen Zhou’s inheritance of Huang Gongwang and Ni Zan’s landscape texturing techniques. The center of the brush is simple, thick and vigorous, the operation is calm, the collection and release is moderate, and the moss and tree branches and leaves are all based on the running script, reflecting the author’s profound calligraphy cultivation and artistic expression.
