[Longquan Kiln Printing Dragon Pattern Blue Glaze Plate]

Longquan Kiln Printing Dragon Pattern Blue Glaze Plate, Yuan, height 7.5 cm, caliber 42.9 cm, foot diameter 29 cm
Open plate, shallow belly, flat bottom, round foot. Green glaze is applied inside and outside. There is no glaze at the bottom. The exposed part is flint red. The center of the plate is embossed with cloud and dragon patterns, and the inner wall is carved with patterns. This dish is large in shape, with a thick body and a cyan glaze. The cloud and dragon patterns printed under the thick glaze layer are clearly visible, which shows that it is a typical piece of celadon from the Longquan kiln of the Yuan Dynasty
Longquan kiln celadon developed from the Song Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty. Although the firing area expanded and the output increased significantly, it could not burn the plum green color of the Southern Song Dynasty. In order to make up for the lack of color of celadon, the celadon of Longquan Kiln in the Yuan Dynasty was often decorated by means of molding, pasting, carving and other techniques in order to pursue the beauty of patterns and shapes.
