Two children in the pavilion are prepared for drinking and eating, and two people in the courtyard enjoy flowers. Various flowers are carved on the yellow paint floor of the cover wall and box body. On the inside side of the cover, there are “made by Zhang Minde” stitches with 4 characters in fine style
This box has perfect composition, exquisite knife technique and lifelike shape, just like a meticulous painting. Its carving style and style are in the same line as Zhang Cheng’s carved lacquer. According to documents, the basic characteristics of carved lacquer in the Yuan Dynasty are “clear hidden front and smooth hidden”.
