This picture reads from itself: “In the first month of the spring of the ninth year, the snow mountain was made for Yan Gong, and the spring snow was made big. Every two or three times, until the end of the work, it was also a wonder. The great fool Taoist priest, who was 80 years old, wrote this book to record the years.”

It was painted in the ninth year of the Zhizheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1349), and is the work of Huang Gongwang at the age of 81. The author collected and painted nine famous Taoist mountains in the Songjiang area in the south of the Yangtze River, which were called “Jiufeng” at that time, reflecting the author’s worship of Taoism Quanzhen. This picture was presented to the Confucianism of Jiangsu and Zhejiang to lift Ban Weizhi. It was in the spring snow of the first month. It felt cold after snow, and the painting was solemn and quiet. The middle and close shots in the picture are outlined with dry pens and stacked with stones. The slope edge is slightly stained with ochre, and the nine peaks in the distance are left blank. The snowy mountains are colored with light ink, which is a masterpiece of Huang Gongwang’s simplicity and complexity
