[Drawing page of Xia Yongfeng Lelou]

“Drawing page of Feng Le lou”, Yuan, Xia Yonghua, silk, ink, 25.8 cm vertically and 25.8 cm horizontally
This anonymous painting is stamped with “Xia Mingyuan’s seal”. On the opposite side, there are two sides of the collection seal “Liang Qingbiao” and “banana forest”
The author uses the diagonal composition method to draw the mountains and waters of the palace in ink and wash. The lines are as thin as hair, the background is gentle and moist, and the open water and the willows are just the right way to show the environment of the building in the south of the Yangtze River. The exhibition shows that his works are slightly different from each other. The painter has reproduced the whole and details of the grand building with superb skills, which is amazing
The composition of this painting is the same as the other paintings of Xia Yong in the Forbidden City. Fengle Restaurant is one of the famous restaurants in Lin’an, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. It is located on the bank of West Lake outside Yongjin Gate. The “Fengle Building”, which is the material of the work, has long gone. Xia Yong’s extremely realistic style of painting and the 31 lines of “Ten Miles to Flatten Fengle Building” written in the small script of “Small as Ant Eyes” on the upper right undoubtedly become important historical materials for today’s understanding of this famous building in Hangzhou in the Song Dynasty
