The bronze statue of Vajrayana

[Bronze Statue of Vajrayana]

Bronze Statue of Vajrayana, 12th century, 19.5 cm high. Vajranghai was originally a god who praised the gods in ancient Bon, but was later subdued by Padmasambhava and became the master or Dharma protector in Esoteric Buddhism. The statue is made of brass made in India. Vajra Hai’s mother, with three eyes wide open, wore a skull crown on her head, and her red hair rose, with a pig’s head sticking out from her hair to the right. Naked, with a large head wreath hanging on the neck. Togabala bowl on the left hand symbolizes her experience of bliss and indicates the success of her career. The left arm holds Kazhangga. Kazhangga is the most common instrument in the supreme yoga department. It has a skeleton, a dry and fresh head on its upper end, representing the “three poisons” of greed, hatred and ignorance in the Buddhist doctrine. The right hand holds the axe knife, which symbolizes the elimination of all human ignorance and calls for true wisdom. The right leg is curled up, the left leg is bent and independent, in a dancing posture, and the foot steps on the human body, which is quite dynamic. The right knee leans against the thick lotus branch, which balances the center of gravity of Vajrayana and makes the statue stronger. Honeysuckle pattern backlight, single-layer simple lotus seat and multi-angle pedestal are the most common forms in the Eastern India during the Baltic period.
