The picture shows the butterfly dancing among the flowering branches of begonia in March. The painter focuses on the dynamic moment of flowering begonia in the rising spring breeze. The flowers are rolled back, the leaves are rolled up and down, and the branches are in “S” shape. By depicting the visible flowers and leaves, the painter successfully renders the intangible intoxicating spring breeze and meaningful spring. In the picture, the petals are first outlined with ink brush, and the center strokes, with smooth and round lines. Then put a little rouge on the upper part of the outer side of the petals, and immediately dye the color with clear water, and finally cover it with a layer of white powder, which adds some charming charm to the bright tone of the begonia flower. The leaves are expressed with neat double-hook color filling brush. The author fills the leaves with colors such as stone green and ink ochre according to the degree of illumination, which fully shows the beauty of the leaves as “clear as water, clean as frost and dew”, showing the painter’s meticulous observation and deep realistic skills.
