[The Painting of Xiao Yizhuan Orchid Pavilion]

The Painting of Xiao Yizhuan Orchid Pavilion, Song Dynasty, silk version, color setting, 26.6 cm in length and 44.3 cm in width
The Story of Orchid Pavilion by Tang He Yanzhi recorded in detail the story of the inspector Xiao Yi who obtained the authentic work of Orchid Pavilion Preface from his talent. Li Rihua of the Ming Dynasty and Yu Shaosong, a close friend, believed that it was not credible, but the painting of Xiao Yi earning Orchid Pavilion based on it was repeatedly copied in the Song Dynasty and later
There are three copies of “The Painting of Xiao Yi Gaining Orchid Pavilion” copied by Song people. In addition to the collection of the Beijing Palace Museum, the other two volumes are collected in the Liaoning Provincial Museum and the Taipei Palace Museum respectively. The collection of the Liao Museum and the Taipei Palace Museum is relatively complete, while the collection of the Beijing Palace Museum is relatively simple
The picture shows four people. On the left is a monk sitting upright on a bamboo cushion and back chair. The smile on his face, the sleeve pulled up and the movement of his right hand stretching forward indicate that he is talking about something with high spirits. The more upright posture seems to indicate his consistent caution and restraint. The picture on the right shows a middle-aged scholar and a monk sitting on a drum-shaped stool opposite each other, with a thin face, a focused expression and a forward movement of his body, indicating that he is eager to cater to the monk’s conversation. A middle-aged monk and a scholar were accompanied by a boy. In terms of character dynamics and artistic style, this book is close to the Liao Boben, but it omits the situation of servants cooking tea behind the monks. In addition, it is also different from the Liao Boben in terms of monk sitting posture, servants and utensils
Mr. Xu Bangda believes that the collections of Liao Bo and Taipei Palace Museum are all copies of the Song Dynasty, and the clothes of the Beijing Palace Museum are folded and frustrated, which is undoubtedly made by the people of the Southern Song Dynasty. The old silk seal in front of and behind the collection book of the Palace Museum in Beijing, “Nanshi Zhongyin”, “Boqian Jingjian”, “Longyou Appreciation”, and other collection seals are in five directions. The tail paper is attached with the old extension of the “Preface to the Orchid Pavilion”. There are postscripts of Wang Houzhi of the Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Meng of the Yuan Dynasty, and Zhang Zhu of the Yuan Dynasty. None of the three people mentioned pictures in the postscript. The seal has 29 collection seals
