Jade Drinking Hu Man Ribbed Plate

[Jade Drinking Hu People’s Ribbed Plate]

Jade Drinking Hu People’s Ribbed Plate, Tang Dynasty, 4.5 cm long, 4.1 cm wide and 0.8 cm thick
The belt plate is made of white jade, approximately square, slightly thick, with sloping sides. A man with a beard in the middle sits on the carpet, with ornaments under his neck. His left hand holds his knee, and his right hand raises a glass. A long silk flutters behind his head, and both ends pass through his armpit. There is no pattern on the back of the belt plate, and there is a pair of perforations at the four corners, and there are three words of “eleven six” engraved in the shade
This work is one of a group of jade ribbons. The carved Hu people have big eyes and high nose, curly hair and thin sleeves. In the Tang Dynasty, a large number of Persians from Central Asia entered the mainland. They believed in registered religion and brought the religions and customs of Central Asia into China. The pattern on this ribbon shows the blending of the Tang Dynasty and foreign cultures at that time.
