9.6 cm in length, 3.9 cm in width and 0.3 cm in thickness
It is made of sapphire and has been soaked into ochre in a large area after fire. The body is flat, in the shape of cloud head, with half moon shaped perforation at the upper end and ridge at the edge. The decorative patterns on both sides are different, but both are carved with fine lines. The front side is carved with a rosefinch, with a long crown, wings spread, three split tails, and a round bead in the mouth, surrounded by floating bird-shaped cloud patterns and flowing cloud patterns. The back is engraved with flame cloud and bird cloud pattern. The decoration is very fine and smooth
This device is similar to the jade honing with rosefinch pattern unearthed from the tomb of Kudi Huiluo in Jiajiazhuang, Shouyang, Shanxi, and should be of the same period
