[Stone Erli Buddha]

Stone Erli Buddha, North Qi, residual height 25 cm

The two Buddha statues are carved through the dragon tree, and the two Buddha positions are opposite. The Buddha has a round face, a high bun, a double-necked pendulous cassock, a monk’s branch inside, a pendulous lace, and stands barefoot on the lotus platform. The outside hand gives the fearless seal, and the inside hand gives the wish seal. There are dragon trees on both sides of the Buddha. The crown of the tree is broken. The trunk is twined with dragons. The dragon’s mouth is facing the Buddha, and the lotus stems are spit out from the mouth. The dragon’s tail intersects behind the two Buddhas. The outside of the tree is a disciple, with his hands folded, standing barefoot on the lotus seat. The lower part is a rectangular base, the front side is a rectangular Kun door, the middle part is a half-body god holding the Boshan stove with both hands, and the sides are lions squatting sideways
