Liu Yuanjing and his wife made stone double Bodhisattvas in the second year of Tiantong in the Northern Qi Dynasty (566), with a residual height of 22.4 cm and a width of 14.5 cm
Double Bodhisattva standing on the back screen. Bodhisattva poses opposite. The upper part of the back screen and the head of the left Bodhisattva are both disabled. The right bodhisattva has a round face, a trefoil crown on his head, and a drooping shawl. No collar, topless, draped around the outside of the arm to both sides of the lotus seat. Under the skirt, the waist of the skirt is turned over, and the lace is drooping. Stand barefoot on the lotus seat. The inner hand holds a lotus bud in front of the chest, and the outer hand holds a peach on the side of the leg. The back screen is plain, the bottom is a rectangular base, and the front is carved with a platform. In the center is the Boshan furnace rising from the lotus seat, with lotus leaves and stems growing from the furnace body. There is a monk on both sides of the furnace, and the monk on the left side is upright to support the bowl. The right bhikkhu knelt on one knee and held the lotus with bent stems in both hands. The outside of the bhikkhu is a strong man, with his head higher than the table, his upper body bare, his skirt down, his cloth hanging around his arm on the shoulder, his fist on the inside to protect his shoulder, his fist on the outside to protect his waist, and he stands barefoot. The vow is carved on the back of the base, saying, “On August 1, the second year of Tiantong, Liu Yuanjing and his wife made a white jade statue for themselves.”
