White jade turtle button “Ji Ping” seal

[White Jade Turtle Button “Ji Ping” Seal]

White Jade Turtle Button “Ji Ping” Seal, Chinese, printed face 1.2 × 1.2 cm, 1.9 cm in height
Private seal of the Han Dynasty, made of white jade, tortoise button, printed in Chinese seal, white text, and read “Ji Ping” horizontally from the right. The seal is a typical private seal of the Han Dynasty. The strokes at the bottom right of the character “Ji” changed from narrow to wide, left to both sides, and widened horizontally at the bottom, just like the same seal printed by copper casting in the Eastern Han Dynasty; The upper part of the word “flat” is compact. The vertical pen goes down and then pulls horizontally. It turns into a larger arc and then pulls to the corner of the printing surface. This is also the typical treatment of the last pen in the private printing of the Eastern Han Dynasty
The tortoise-shaped button back is decorated with ring armour. The middle edge of the back armour is slightly raised. The tortoise body is supported by four feet, and the head is slightly raised, as if to crawl. This kind of turtle button only appeared in a period after the Xinmang period, which is a landmark shape of the era
This printed white jade is all in one color, moist and delicate, shiny and not exposed, and has excellent material and production. It is the most exquisite and beautiful thing in the Han Dynasty jade seal.
