[Jade cloud pattern]
Jade cloud pattern, Warring States Period, height 6.3 cm, width 5.95 cm, thickness 2.25 cm. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The jade is bluish white, with heavy ochre spots on the surface, and its color is not brought by the jade itself. It is a trapezoid with wide top and narrow bottom, concave on both sides, and convex from the middle to both sides. The surface is decorated with overcast lines and cloud-like patterns. There are also thin overcast ring patterns and double short lines in the cloud-like patterns
The bottom of this work has a fine overcast pattern, which should be carved by later generations, and has two holes connected with each other. It is worn with knots and long ears, which is the work of the Qing Dynasty. The sword pendant is an ornament at the bottom of the scabbard. It is located at a very low position and can no longer be decorated with long spikes. This work may be used as a personal pendant or a utensil pendant in the palace.
