The old photo of Weihai, Shandong in 1917 was taken by William Boyd Cooper
Cooper was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1878. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, he taught business in Beijing Normal University (renamed Peking University in 1912) in English and French
