From 1929 to 1949, except for the eight years during the Anti Japanese War, Chiang Kai shek’s daily residence in Nanjing was not the Meiling Palace, but a small western style building. Today, this two-story building still lies in No. 3 Huangpu Road&# 8203;&# 8203;&# 8203;&# 8203;
