Cuifeng Temple, formerly known as Tianzhu Temple. It is located at the foot of the Dicui Peak in Qingqiaowan, Jiuhua Mountain, and in front of the Zhongcui Peak (in Dongqiao Village, Zhubei Town, Qingyang County today). It was founded in the fifth year of Chengtong in the Tang Dynasty (864). According to the original note of Chen Yan’s poem Tianzhu Temple in the early Yuan Dynasty:; It used to be in front of Tianzhu Peak and moved to the foot of Dicui Peak at the end of the Tang Dynasty. The common call is Gaoshe, which is now Cuifeng Nunnery& rdquo; According to the original note of Chen Yan’s poem Cuifeng Temple:; (Song Dynasty) Yu Zhiyuan, a man from the middle town of Qiandao, called himself “the day” because of his understanding of the willow stream; Cuifeng&rsquo& rdquo; Therefore, the temple is named

翠峰寺，原名天柱庵。位于九华后山青峭湾滴翠峰下，中翠峰前（今青阳县朱备镇东桥村境内）。始建于唐成通五年(864)。据元初陈岩《天柱庵》诗原注：“旧在天柱峰前，唐末迁滴翠峰下。俗呼高舍，即今之翠峰庵。”又据陈岩《翠峰庵》诗原注：“（宋）乾道中邑人余志源因折柳溪边悟解，聚徒稍众，即高居之，自称日：‘翠峰’。”因此以为庵名。
打坐诵经的尼姑。
明代时期仍称翠峰庵，但已荒废。清末住持僧普照重建殿宇，有两个大殿和数十间寮房。易名为翠峰寺。1898年僧普照会同月霞，印魁、通晓、可安等法师在此开办“翠峰华严道场”，亦称“华严大学”。其后普照法师仍住持多年，使翠峰寺复兴为一大丛林。
敲钟的尼姑，寺院的钟声就是从这里发出。
尼姑是中国对比丘尼的俗称，又作苾雏尼、比呼尼、尼、除女、董女、沙门尼，俗称尼姑，尼师，女尼。尼姑是归入佛门，受持具足戒的女子。

翠峰寺现存正殿5间，建筑面积380平方米。寺廊面壁嵌有清光绪二十八年所立的《开建翠峰华严道场碑志》。翠峰景色旖旎，明人概括为“翠峰八景”。
