Xiwanzi was originally a village outside the Great Wall, a hundred miles northeast of Zhangjiakou. It was more than 20 miles in circumference, surrounded by mountains, and in the middle was Pingchuan. Since 1726, Catholicism built a church in Xiwanzi.
