The old photo of Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia in 1930 shows the style and features of Manzhouli and Ganzhuer Temple 90 years ago

This group of photos is from Yadong Printing Collection. It was from August 1924 to 1944 that the Japanese invaders sent intelligence personnel to take a large number of human and geographical photos of various parts of China, which were published by the Japanese as A Collection of Asian Prints. These photos recorded the living conditions of Chinese people at that time, as well as the geographical features of all parts of the country, giving us a chance to see the historical images of China at that time

The magazine in which the photos of this group were taken was first published in January 1935, so the photos of this group should have been taken before 1935

Manchuria borders Mongolia in the west and Russia in the north. It is the largest land port city in China. Manchuria was originally called“ Holezin Prague”, Mongolian meaning“ Strong spring water”. In 1901, it got the name of Russian because of the construction of the East Qing Railway“ Manchuria”, Transliteration into Chinese is“ Manzhouli”. 满洲里远眺。满洲里是中俄交界的边境城市,1901年中东铁路西线建成,从俄罗斯境内进入中国东北的第一站就设在这里。

满洲里(此处应是海拉尔)街景,因为1929年东北军与苏军为控制中东铁路而爆发的战争,东北军被打败,满洲里商业遭到重创,市面上显得非常萧条。

甘珠尔庙。

甘珠尔庙又称寿宁寺,是呼伦贝尔地区最大的喇嘛庙。距新巴尔虎左旗所在地阿木古郎镇西北20公里。此庙于清乾隆三十六年(1771年)御批并由清廷拨银建庙。庙中主供释迦牟尼、官布、扎木苏伦等佛像,由于寿宁寺曾收藏过藏蒙文《甘珠尔经》,故而又得名为《甘珠尔庙》。

旁边就是甘珠尔庙,蒙古牧民正在拆组中他的蒙古包,各种生活用品摆放在草地上。

甘珠尔庙会结束后,交易完成的牧民们开始拆解蒙古包返回家园。

甘珠尔庙每年都在正月十五举办,庙会期间,来自各地的客商和游牧生活的牧民,聚集一起,互市互贸。

满洲里西南方向四里左右的察罕诺尔地区的一处煤矿。
