Carter Holton is the Reverend Hai Yingguang. This Chinese name was used by him during his stay in Gansu, China. In 1901, Hai Yingguang was born in Wisconsin, USA. In 1923, he and his wife, Laura Newbury (Chinese name is Hamoud), came to Gansu and Qinghai in China to preach, and left in 1949 (during which he briefly returned to the United States)

Hai Yingguang and his wife dedicated the best time of their lives to the missionary cause in the Gansu Qinghai Border Region of China. Although their mission of missionary has not made substantial progress, through cross faith and cross cultural exchanges, they have left many precious original video materials recording Salar, Dongxiang, Hui, Tibetan and Han nationalities in the Republic of China

1934年兰州 白塔寺附近。
白塔寺位置在城市北岸白塔山上，海拔约为一千七百米。最早的白塔建于元代，今已不存。明朝景泰年间，刘永成（镇守甘肃内监）在原址重建白塔。1715年（清朝康熙五十四年），曾命名为慈恩寺。
