Sharing a group of old photos of Lushunkou in the Republic of China, let’s take a look at the city of Lushunkou (now Lushunkou District, Dalian) a hundred years ago, when Lushun was occupied by Japan. Lushun and Dalian have been two independent cities since ancient times. In 1955, Lushun City and Dalian County merged and became known as Lvda City. Lushun City belongs to Lvda City. On January 7, 1960, the organizational system of Lushun City was abolished, and Lushunkou District, Lvda City, was established. After 1981, Dalian was designated as Lushun District, and Lushun has since become a district of Dalian
This group of photos was taken by the University of the Japanese Academy of Studies, and was collected by Gan Zhizhu Ishida (1891-1974), a Japanese who was visiting Korea and Manchuria at that time. The photos mainly came from various postcards issued in North China after 1919
