In 1943, William·, a photojournalist of LIFE magazine in the United States; William Vandvert came to China through the Soviet Union to take pictures of Chinese society during the War of Resistance against Japan, and Xinjiang was his first stop after arriving. Here he used his Lulaifu camera to record the local conditions and customs at that time. These images faithfully recorded the production and life style, natural landscape, human architecture, living customs, traffic geography and other aspects of various ethnic groups in Xinjiang during the Republic of China, leaving us extremely valuable visual archives
