In September 1937, after the Japanese army broke through the Great Wall defense line of the Kuomintang army, they attacked Taiyuan along the Tongpu Line and Zhengtai Line. In late October 1937, Niangzi Pass fell. On the 5th, the Japanese army in the east occupied Yuci. On the 6th, the Japanese army in the north came to Taiyuan. On the 7th, with the cooperation of the Japanese air force, the two Japanese armies launched a general attack on Taiyuan. 8.
