龙开河,又称湓水
湓江(龙开河),又名湓水、湓浦。今名龙开河 ,是位于江西九江的一支河流,发源于瑞昌清湓山,汇庐山下流水,经湓浦口注入长江。
鸦片战争后,英租界就设在湓浦口东岸,洋街、洋行、邮局、天主教堂等一应俱全,客观上促进了龙开河(湓江)口一带的繁华。光绪三十三年(1907年)1月,江西第一条铁路——南浔铁路在龙开河(湓江)举行开工典礼,九江火车站站址被确定在龙开河西岸。
