Share a group of old photos of Mount Emei in Sichuan from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, and let’s take a look at the images of Mount Emei Jinding, Ancestor’s Hall and Wannian Temple a hundred years ago

This group of photos is from Changpan Dading& Co., Ltd; Chen Yezhen co authored Chinese Cultural Historical Sites, Vol. 4, pp. 5-7. The pictures of the book were basically taken between 1906 and 1928, and according to the current textual research, they were taken in the 1920s

Mount Emei Jinding is the most concentrated place of temples and scenic spots in Mount Emei. It is the essence of Emei with many places of interest. Jinding, also known as Huazang Temple, is located on the main peak of Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 3077 meters. It is the destination of Emei Mountain Tour and one of the key temples in China

峨眉山金顶始建于唐朝，屋顶为锡瓦所盖，元代时又被称为“银顶”。在金顶可观看峨眉四大奇观——日出、云海、佛光、圣灯。金顶与千佛顶、万佛顶相邻，万佛顶上亦有建筑，且有观光索道连接金顶与接引殿。

峨眉山 万年寺

万年寺，四川峨嵋山历史最悠久的古刹之一，相传为汉代采药老人蒲公礼佛处；东晋隆安五年（401）创建时名普贤寺；唐乾符三年（876）慧通重建，易名白水寺；宋称白水普贤寺。明万历二十八年（1600）重修时，神宗赐额“圣寿万年寺”，沿称至今；万年寺为峨嵋山八大寺庙之一，全国重点寺院之一，有无梁砖殿、巍峨宝殿、白水池等景点。
