Robert· Kappa, a world-famous war correspondent, is one of the warriors who have traveled through the famous war zones of World War II. He arrived in Wuhan in early March 1938 and left at the end of September. He stayed in Wuhan for about half a year and shot a lot of works full of visual impact and emotional shock

Kappa’s trip to Wuhan is full of symbolic significance: he, together with dozens of western counterparts, was attracted by the vigorous defense of Wuhan. Their efforts made the anti fascist battle in Wuhan under the eyes of the world

这张照片恐怕很多人都见过。当时卡帕拍摄的照片，被送到国外，刊登在各大媒体的版面上。他在武汉拍摄的这特写肖像照，一个头戴钢盔的中国年轻士兵高昂头颅，传达出中国人民英勇抗日的凛然之气。1938年5月16日，美国《生活》杂志将此照片用作封面，并用7个版的篇幅报道卡帕在武汉的采访。通过这种视觉呈现，武汉抗战的场景传递到了全世界。

到9月底，武汉最紧张的战事渐渐过去，卡帕离开中国，辗转前往西班牙。卡帕是20世纪最伟大的摄影师之一，他的名言“如果你的照片不够好，是因为你离得不够近”至今被摄影者奉为座右铭。
