1900年八国联军侵入北京，慈禧和光绪逃往西安。当慈禧和光绪来到西安时全城轰动，市民纷纷围观皇帝和老佛爷，彼时在城墙上围观的一个外国摄影师拍下了光绪皇帝下轿的瞬间，可惜的是没有露出正脸。
