- Description:
Qingyang is a rare animal in Northeast China, North China and Tibet. It is good at jumping and moving among the steep cliffs and is a tribute at that time. Lang Shining (1688-1766) not only successfully displayed the blue sheep’s bright and hard short horns, bright and clear brown pupils, and green and gray curly mane, but also fully grasped the dynamics of the blue sheep, with superb painting skills. The square ridge shaped rocks in the painting were painted by Fang Cong, a disciple of Zhang Zongcang, as an example of the cooperation between Chinese and Western painters in the Qianlong Dynasty The painting of Green Sheep follows the tradition of recording rare birds and animals by the royal family. However, it is about two meters in length and breadth, reflecting the new trend of Qianlong Dynasty to draw tribute in a large scale.
