Chrysanthemum originated in China and later spread to Europe. At the beginning of the 18th century, those who came to China again were called foreign chrysanthemums. “The flowers have five colors. The round ones are like balls, and the flat ones are like plates and wheels.”. Because of its novelty, Emperor Qianlong ordered Zou Yigui to draw a “foreign chrysanthemum manual”, and many imperial gardens were planted.
