  • Description:
Zhou Danquan was an expert in antiques collection at the end of the 16th century. It is said that he once saw a Ding kiln white porcelain tripod at the home of Tang Taichang (a Jinshi in 1571), so he borrowed it from the owner to watch it, carefully copied the patterns, and faithfully copied the same the first mock examination as the original. Because it was so lifelike that it was difficult to distinguish it from the original, Tang Taichang couldn’t put it down and bought it as a copy. This work is a three legged round tripod. Although “Made by Zhou Danquan” is written on the bottom, there is no evidence to prove that it was really made by Zhou Danquan. Therefore, in the exhibition, we regard it as a famous brand produced along with oral stories.
