On a moonlit night, the fog is misty, the reeds and lotus leaves are looming, and four wild geese live on the island. In composition, there are only near and middle scenes, while long scenes are mostly omitted. Although this painting has the famous money of Lv Ji, there are some doubts, and the handwriting of the whole painting is relatively weak, so it should not be the original work of Lv Shi. However, its scenery layout and atmosphere construction are quite similar to another collection of Lvji’s “Qiuzhu Waterfowl”, so it should be a copy that is quite faithful to Lvji’s style. From this painting, we can see the appearance of Lvji’s freehand brushwork style. Lv Ji (who lived from 1439 to 1505 AD) was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The word Tingzhen, which is called Yue Yu, is also called Yue Yu. Lv Ji was a famous court flower and bird painter in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Xiaozong Hongzhi (1488-1505 AD), he was in charge of the Renzhi Hall, and was commanded by the Royal Guards. The flowers and birds first learned Bianwenjin (from 1403 to 1428), and then imitated the famous artists of the Tang and Song Dynasties, combined with fine brushwork and freehand brushwork, showing a variety of features and quite personal characteristics.
