- Description:
The book notes that this volume seems to have been written in Huzhuang on July 10, the first year of Chongzhen (1628). However, the book is intended to express Dong Qichang’s views on the use of brush and ink in painting. The painting is modeled on Zhang Sengyou’s no bones landscape, which has no subordinate relationship, or is the result of later collectors mounting the two works together. The brush is light and uniform. The mountain is made of green, the clouds are dyed with white powder, the juicy green trees and moss are arranged in rows, and the red trees are decorated with cinnabar. The yellow ochre hut is hidden among the rafters, presenting a colorful autumn scene. Although the title is clear, this volume is a comfortable work of Dong’s god in his leisure time. However, its style is slightly different from that of Zhao Zuo (1573-1644).
