Qian Gong (active from 1573 to 1619) was born in Wuxian County, Jiangsu Province, with the name of Yufang and the name of Cangzhou. This painting depicts the scene of celebrating the New Year in a prosperous year, with children and old people enjoying the festival. In the hall, there was a high fever in the pot fire wine pot. Two children put out paper. One senior scholar wanted to write. In front of the house, the plum blossoms are in full bloom. The children play in the courtyard and set off explosive poles, which means “peace”. This painting depicts the New Year scene, which is quite frank and simple.
