- Description:
The shape of Yongle flat pots and Ruyi’er flat pots in the Ming Dynasty was influenced by pottery and glassware in Central and Western Asia. The mouth is small, the neck is thin, the abdomen is flat and round, and the bottom is flat without feet. There is an arch ear on both sides of the neck to connect the neck and shoulder. The whole vessel is decorated with blue and white flowers, and the neck is painted with blue and white banana leaf patterns. On both sides of the abdomen, the landscape is painted, and on the shoulder and near the bottom, the pattern of upside down lotus petals is painted for one week. The center of the abdomen is like a small scene, with sloping stones and water feet in the foreground and tree stones in the middle. There are three people on one side and two people on the other side of the flat pot. There are five musical and dancing figures in the close range of the distant mountain. The faces and costumes of the characters present a foreign look. The posture and combination of the characters are quite similar to the paintings of the 14th century Islam praying for the re flow of dry springs. Ruyi Ear Flat Pot with figures as the theme of decoration is only known in the world, one of which was collected in our hospital and the other in Istanbul, Türkiye
